The Apex Health
Score Framework
Your Health Score isn’t just a number — it’s a diagnostic framework built to reveal what’s impacting your site.
Understanding the Framework
Your Apex Health Score gives you a structured snapshot of how healthy your website is overall, using a single score from 0–100. Instead of guessing where problems might exist, your Health Score shows you exactly where to focus first.
The score is built from four core areas that directly impact how your site performs for both users and search engines:
- Technical Health
- Content Health
- Accessibility
- Performance
Each area is scored individually, then combined into your overall Health Score so you can see both the big picture and the specific areas that matter most.

How Your Overall Score Is Calculated
The Apex Health Score is built on a weighted evaluation model designed to reflect how websites succeed in real-world search environments. Your overall Health Score is calculated using a weighted combination of the four core areas:
Technical Health – 30%
Content Health – 25%
Accessibility – 20%
Performance – 25%
Technical stability and performance determine whether your site can load and be crawled. Content and accessibility determine whether visitors stay, engage, and trust what they see.
Together, these scores provide a balanced view of your site’s true health — not just how it looks, but how well it works.
What the Score Ranges Mean
Every score in your report — both the overall Health Score and individual section scores — falls into one of the following ranges:
Critical (0-50)

High-impact issues are actively limiting performance and visibility. These should be addressed immediately to prevent ongoing losses.
High Priority (51-70)

Significant issues were identified that are holding the site back. While the site is functional, resolving these items should be a near-term priority.
Needs Attention (71-85)

The site is generally sound, but several areas could be improved to strengthen performance, search visibility, or usability. Addressing these items can help unlock additional gains.
Good (86-100)

No major issues were detected that would significantly limit the site. Minor improvements may exist, but no urgent issues are limiting performance.
Technical Health
This pillar evaluates how well your site functions from a technical standpoint. It focuses on elements that affect crawlability, indexing, and site stability—ensuring search engines and users can reliably access your content.
Common areas reviewed include site structure, indexing status, redirects, duplicate URLs, and technical errors that may interfere with performance or visibility.
Content Health
Content Health measures the quality, clarity, and structure of the content on your site. It looks at how well your pages communicate their purpose and whether content issues could limit discoverability or engagement.
This includes factors like missing or duplicate titles and meta descriptions, thin content, and content duplication that can dilute relevance.
Accessibility Health
Accessibility Health focuses on how usable your site is for all visitors, including those using assistive technologies. Improving accessibility not only creates a better experience for users—it also supports broader usability and compliance best practices.
This pillar reviews elements such as missing image alt text, contrast issues, and structural markup that affects screen readers and navigation.
Performance Health
Performance Health measures how efficiently your site loads and responds for users. Fast, stable sites lead to better engagement and fewer drop-offs—especially on mobile devices.
This includes page speed indicators like Core Web Vitals and mobile performance metrics that influence both rankings and user experience.
